Imagine that day when you were on your way home with your friend and you were listening on the radio. A new report came in and it is about the strict implementation of the NO on-street parking program of the MMDA. You were almost home when you found yourself caught in heavy traffic congestion at an intersection. When you tried to inquire, you saw a number of cars parked on the road. A driver of one car even left his car on the street and went inside a school. It’s dismissal time for students. You have been experiencing this situation more often in this area. You looked around to check if there are traffic enforcers but no one is there to fix the traffic problem. Your friend tried to check his phone to see if he has the police or MMDA hotline but he did not find anything on his phonebook. Then he realized that he have just downloaded this new mobile app called CrowdPoint Sight. It has a new feature to communicate directly to concerned government agencies for the public to send their complaints and request for assistance or help. The great thing about it is that the public can send photo or video and give the exact location of the observation on a digital map viewed by concerned government agency. He tried to use the app and he found it to be user friendly. He took a photo of the incident and sends it to MMDA thru CrowdPoint Sight. After few minutes, you saw MMDA personnel already manning the intersection. The drivers of illegally parked vehicles were apprehended and required to move. The traffic congestion problem was solved. After you passed thru the intersection your friend received a thank you note and notification on the app that the reported concern was already addressed. Another great thing about it is that your friend earned “100 CrowdPoints” for the report. You can collect and exchange the CrowdPoints for free public transport ride and other government services. The next day you drove into the area, you were pleased to see that no car is illegally parked on the road anymore. It seems that your post on CrowdPoint Sight already became a deterrent for violators. Your friend checked the app again and saw another function that allows CrowdPoint Sight map sharing on Facebook. He tried it and after few minutes he saw a lot of his friend on FB who liked the post and asked how to download the app.
